The Bucks County Chapter of the Board of Associates of Fox Chase Cancer Center celebrated the enchantment and festivity of a gala in France with “May in Versailles,” held on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m., at the completely renovated and elegant Hotel Du Village (New Hope, PA). All money raised at the event benefited cancer research at Fox Chase Cancer Center. A special pledge for immunotherapy research was held during dinner and alone raised over $50,000!
‘May in Versailles’ featured live music, an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, 3 course sit down dinner and silent auction. Click here to see the scrumptious menu.
The lucky winner of the 50-50 raffle won $1600. Guests were entertained by the talented Triple T’s jazz trio from Temple University playing originals, forgotten tunes, and reimagined pop.
During the cocktail hour participants had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Richard Fisher, President and CEO of Fox Chase Cancer Center as well as these other Fox Chase doctors to get the latest insight on cancer research and treatment: Hossein Borghaei (Chief, Thoracic Oncology and Director, Lung Cancer Risk Assessment), Sid Balachandran (Associate Professor, Co-Leader, Blood Cell Development and Function, Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Temple University), Matt Zibelman (Clinical Instructor and medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of genitourinary cancers), and David Wiest (Deputy Chief Scientific Officer and Professor). In addition, Susan Barton shared her experience as a cancer patient at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
There was also a special VIP reception for event sponsors and their guests from 4-5 p.m. with the opportunity to engage with Fox Chase doctors in a small, exclusive setting prior to the event.
